Default [Fixed] theuptodatesafety/protection bar how to get rid of

I was stupid watching videos and downloaded this nasty little thing. Everytime I open IE it pops up with theuptodatesafey.com page and i have this protction bar i can't get rid of too. Their was also a little blinking thing down by my clock that kept telling me I had a virus and would direct me to a page selling antivirus software. I got rid of that however. here is my hijackthis report. I am running windows xp.

Hya Ijustneedhelp, welcome to PCHF.

First please go to add/remove programs and uninstall WhenUSave if present.

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
Command Line Process Viewer/Killer/Suspender for Windows NT/2000/XP

Please print out these instructions, or copy them to a Notepad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode. (hit f8 before Windows loads when booting up)
Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd

Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart anyway into normal Windows. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.

The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Rather than give them to you one at a time, try these options to restore the Desktop. One should work.
---------------------------------------------------

Download an run this Background Fixer
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Run this file.Double click to merge it.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/reg/smitfraud.reg
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to Control Panel > Display Properties. Click the Desktop tab and click the Customize Desktop button. Click the Web tab and make sure all checkboxes in this window are unchecked. If any look a bit odd, check them then uncheck again.
Next, check hidden files and folders
To show hidden files instructions (WinXP)
Doubleclick My Computer | Tools | Folder Options | View tab
Select Show Hidden Files and Folders
Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Select Apply to All Folders | Yes | Apply | OK

Search for C:\Windows\Web\Desktop.html and delete it if you find it.
Reboot and see if this helps.
----------------------------------------------------
You will find a fix here.Look for item 214 (Windows XP Style Changes )Troubleshooting Windows XP, Tweaks and Fixes for Windows XP
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then go here Troubleshooting Windows XP, Tweaks and Fixes for Windows XP and scroll down to line 187. Restore Themes Functionality. Download the regfile, run it and reboot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is very important not only to keep Sun Java up to date but also to remove older versions which have security holes and can be exploited by malware such as Vundo .
Please follow the steps to remove older version Java components
1. Close any open programs you may have running, especially your web
browser
2. Click Start > Control Panel
* Depending on your OS or configuration, you may have to click Start
> Settings > Control Panel
3. Open Add or Remove Programs
* If you have Windows 98 or Windows 2000, open Add/Remove Programs
4. Click once on any item listing Java Runtime Environment in the name
* Not every version of Java will begin with "Java" so be sure to read each entry in the list
5. Click the Remove or Change/Remove button
6. Follow steps 4 and 5 as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java. ** If you are asked to reboot at any point during the uninstallations, please do so. Then go back to Add/Remove and continue with the removals.
7. Next, navigate to and delete:
  • C:\Program Files\Java <<<<<<this folder if found
8. Reboot your PC once all Java components have been removed.
9. Proceed with reinstalling Java by going to This site and downloading the latest version ( Version 5.0 Update 8 ) from the website.
Save it, do not run it.
When the download is complete, close the browser and install it.

There is still a bit of it left:

Run HijackThis , select to do a "system scan only" and then place a check beside each of the following:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WhenUSave] "C:\Program Files\Save\Save.exe"
Now first close all windows and browsers other then HijackThis , then click Fix checked and close HijackThis.

Manually delete this folder:

C:\Program Files\Save

After that reboot your pc, and post a new HijackThis log please.
