Hya

I would advice to uninstall SpywareDetector as that is not really a trustworthy app, and there are better free alternatives.
Have a look in our download section for some very good free apps.

Run HijackThis , select to do a "system scan only" and then place a check beside each of the following:

O4 - Global Startup: palstart.exe
Now first close all windows and browsers other then HiJackThis , then click fix checked and close HijackThis.

And then reboot your pc, and post a new hjt log please.

Here is my new Hijack log after doing suggested hints. Was I only supposed to have checked just one item to be fixed or was i supposed to have checked more. I only checked the 04-Global Startup: palstart.exe

Greetings ltlbit.

I guess Joe forgot to get you to move HijackThis to a permanent folder...this is pretty important because backups stored in temporary locations may easily get removed.
First create a folder, such as C:\HJT.
Then move hijackthis.exe to this folder you created. Double-click hijackthis.exe click "Scan", and wait for the scan to finish.

Now please place a checkmark beside two more entries:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http:// red.clientapps.yahoo. com/customize/ycomp/defaults/sb/*http://www.yahoo. com/search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http:// red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/ycomp/defaults/sp/*http:// www.yahoo.com

Close all other windows except HijackThis and press "Fix Checked". Then close HijackThis and restart the computer.

Is this a general check-up of your PC, or have you actually encountered a problem? And if it is the latter, is the problem still occuring now?

Nah, I didn't forget, I just never even look at HJT's location let alone ask to make a separete folder for it. I have never needed a backup before and aslong as I don't make (stupid) mistakes I wont either.
