Hya MP.

Looks completly clean.

But there is still a Symantec service running from a previous install that should be removed:

Go to Start > Run and type

cmd

and OK. Type or copy and paste the below commands and hit "Enter" after each line

sc stop SymWSC
sc delete SymWSC

Type Exit to close.

Post a new log when done please.

What should my command prompt be at? What folder/directory? Mine is at C:\Documents and Settings\Name I know how to switch this but I'm not sure what directory you want me to be in, because sc is not recognized in my \Name folder.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but no need to search for any folder/directory.

Just click first on 'start', then 'run', type in 'cmd', then press enter.

Now type this command and press enter:

sc stop SymWSC

Then this one, and press enter again:

sc delete SymWSC

Type Exit to close.

My command prompt directory is set to C:\Documents and Settings\**NAME** When I type that it is says sc is not is not recognized as an operable program or batch file.

So what directory do I set my command prompt to, to use this sc batch/executable file?

You don't have to change anything normally, it should just work. What happends if you go to start/run/cmd and then just type sc and press enter?

Also if you do a search for sc.exe, is that present on your pc?

But lets try it an other way:

Click Start>Run and type in: services.msc
Click OK
In the Services window find: SymWMI Service
Select/highlight and right click the entry, and choose: Properties
On the General tab, under Service Status click the Stop button
Beside: Startup Type, in the drop menu, select: Disabled
Click Apply, then OK

Open HJT and click config > misc tools > “delete an NT service”
Copy and past: SymWSC
Click OK.

When done, post a new HJT log please.
