Default [Resolved] 100% cpu usage when connected to net

Hey, hope someone can help me, this problem has been annoying me for a while.

After long trawls through what the problem was, I tracked it down to this:
I switch my pc on without the usb broadband modem connected and it loads up fine, but when I connect it, the cpu usage shoots up to 100% and it seems to be explorer.exe that is using up all the cpu.
I've looked at what's using my internet connection and explorer.exe is there, even tho I'm not browsing a website or anything.
I've ran adaware, spybot search and destroy, avast, etc, and nothing seems to halt it.
I took my pc to where I bought it and showed them what was using the internet, and one of them said he'd cleaned up my batch files or whatever, but when I got home and tested it the same problem occured.

Please help me.

Hya Dcverion , welcome to PCHF.

Have you already tried uninstalling and reinstalling (updated if availeble) the modems driver?

And let's have a look for malware problems , please click on the "Prework" link below in my sig , follow those instructions and post the two resulting logs for us to look at.

Hya Dcverion.

I don't see anything wrong there sofar , but let's try an online AV scan:

And when done , post the resulting log please.

fixed it, it was webcpl.dll.

I checked what threads were causing explorer to lock up and discovered it was that one, which i hear is doing the rounds at the moment.

thanks for your help,
dcverion.

Nice detective work , well done.

It's strange though , Ewido should have detected that file as Downloader.Small.cjn.

But glad to hear your problem is gone , marked as resolved , and see you around the forums.
