Okay guys, I have been having a little bit of trouble with my P.C and a freind of mine gave me this website saying you guys should be able to help me?

I dont really knw what to say, except that I was trying to download something today from an innocent looking website and since then it has messed everything up.

I can still connect to the internet, and my computer isnt shutting down or crashing.

The speed is even ok and not reallly slowing down.

My main web page on Internet eexplorer has been changed but Firefox is fine.

I constanslty get popups saying that I have spyware on my computer and that I need to download a certain software.

I also have (which I havent seen before) a flashing yellow triangle in my bottom toolbar, if thats what u call it?

Next to the clock.

Bottom right.

I guess I will need to do something more than this lame explanation to help u guys out?

Where do I get the Hi jack this thingy ma bob from?

Please dont give up on me because I dont know what I am on about......I need some help.

Thanks for the help so far......Im on to the Ewido section of the pre-work.

This might sound silly but, when I click the link, I dont get the Ewido Security Suite, I get the Ewido Anti Spyware, and I dont get a Big E on my desktop I get a differetn logo.

It doesnt give me the option additional options to disable the things you siggested so I thought I would check back in first?

Ok, I have not got past the same bit I am afraid.

I cant get into safe mode.

I tried with F8, I tred through F11 (which was labbeled boot otions) unfortunatley, the whole screen goes black.

My monitor turns black it doesnt get the no signal being displayed message though.

Is there a way to pre determine that I want to restart in safe mode before I Restart......If that makes sense?

Oh, by the way, I knew the title to this thread would end up being appropriate.

P.S......I dont know if you want to know this yet, but, all of a sudden, everytime I restart my p.c, the Win32 folder opens up on startup and is displayed on my desktop?

How to setup Spybot Search & Destroy version 1.4
Download SpyBot
Save spybotsd14.exe into its own directory, NOT in a TEMPorary folder or on the Desktop.
I recommend c:/program files/spybot/
Doubleclick spybotsd14.exe. Make sure to direct the program to install in the c:/program files/spybot/ directory, NOT the default directory.
Open Spybot from Start | Programs | Spybot | Spybot S&D
Select <Search for Updates>. Let it install all updates. This is very important!
Select <Immunize>
Select <Check for Problems>
Check all entries that are in RED. Only RED NOTHING ELSE.
Select <Fix Selected Problems>
Close Spybot//


Then please download HijackThis. It will create a directory folder for you in C\Program files. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help determine what,if any, spyware/malware is on your computer.


Also download SILENT RUNNERS to a new folder,... Unzip if Zipped, and run the Silent Runners.vbs file.
Open the "Startup Programs.txt" file it creates, and copy/paste the contents to this post, please.
The "Startup Programs.txt" file will be in the folder you ran the "Silent Runners.vbs" file from.

Ok.......I have done everything now....I think.

Did I attach the files properly?
