Might sound strange but when I opened Windows explorer and went to C: then windows, I couldnt even find System32??
Sorry,my fault.Its hidden.

SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.
To show hidden files instructions (WinXP)
Doubleclick My Computer | Tools | Folder Options | View tab
Select Show Hidden Files and Folders
Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
Uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Select Apply to All Folders | Yes | Apply | OK

Ok found the sysyem32 folder, but the offending file isnt in there.

Also, just thought I wouild ask, are these valid files or not? (Attached)

Is anyone gonna pick up on this or do I wait till pancake comes back?

Just asking Im not sure how this works.

Hey Sheepskin, I think it would be best for Pancake to carry on with you as he's got the best idea of what's been done on your system.
The .jpg that you showed a couple of posts ago is a list of he update and hotfix files from MS, If you rehide the system files in folder options you won't see them again, but that's all hey are.

Ok thanks.......they just looked really weird.
Im always worried about any file wit ha $ sign in them
