Angry [Resolved] IE 6, "about:blank"

Hi,

So one night, my pc just froze during my internet browsing. I figured i had some type of malwar/spyware problems. norton detected some of it but it was too late. Now my IE 6 doesn't work and shows "about:blank" I've read much of the info on it from Microsoft but it just got confusing after awhile then i tried spybot and other programs but some require 'internet access' to download updates so i couldn't use them. So Here's my log file from Hijack this. please help and take a close look at it because I'm still a newbie. thanks much!!

Hi Mshuggs,

I'm assuming that you have access to another PC allowing you to communicate and post, so can you please carefully follow the instructions for PreWork in my signature, Then post back with both the ewido log, and the new HJT log. Make sure that you are running the newest version of HijackThis (HJT).

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hya Mshuggs , before doing the Prework bit please run this tool:

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Then boot up in safemode (hit f8 when booting up)

Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please attach that report to your next reply.

The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Then follow the Prework instructions and post back with the rapport.txt , the Ewido log , and a new Hijackthis log please.
