Hya Jeff.

I dont see any malware problems in there , only i see you have both AVG and Symantec security center installed. Having two AV's installed can cause conflict and performance problems.

So since the Symantec is a full security suit , i would advice to disable or uninstall AVG. You can always use online AV scans as for a second opinion , see link for that below in my sig.

And where did you see that (fake btw) Backtera warning? Just on one single site maybe? That is a fake warnining to try and scare you into buying there (infected) socalled "removal" software.

But lets also try an online Panda scan:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan

When done , post the log from it please.

Hello Joe5 thanks for replying. I have gotten numorus WinAnti Virus pop ups, at various sites. And Microsoft Internet Explorer pop ups about having the bactera virus and error safe. In short, it seems that I get pop ups for sites that I have searched for using Google.

Here are a couple of screenies that popped up while I was typing this.

Nothing wrong there again , just a couple of tracking cookies.

Lets see if it might be an Apropos infection:

Please download AproposFix.exe - but do NOT run it yet.
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/aproposfix.exe

Then boot youre pc in safemode (hit f8 when booting up)

Once in Safe Mode, double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop.
Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode.

When done please post the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder.

Yeah this one really has me stumped, normally I can get these little buggers to stop by switching off Messenger. That's what it seems like anyway.
