Default [Resolved] Computer is Acting Very Strange!

Hi everyone, this is my last stop before the computer repair shop! My computer started acting funny about a week ago. I had to reboot one day because the keyboard quit working all of the sudden. So I plugged it in again and restarted the computer. Well it did this again a few days ago, so when I rebooted, then the monitor wasn't showing anything. It showed that it came on , but u couldn't see anything. Then I rebooted again and all that happened is a black screen saying "no operating system found". So I just turned it off and was gone all weekend. Monday I turn it on, and it comes on and works! Just like normal. Well I'm not sure if it is a virus or what. Maybe it is my hard drive. But I did follow the prework directions, just in case. I am usually pretty good about defragmenting my computer and all that regular maintenance, but this is something different.

Hello lh19732006,

Welcome to PC Help Forum,

Someone that can really help you out will be around shortly. They normally get to you within 30 min or so. But I have a suggestion, not that it will solve your problem but help prevent it from happening again. (if it is spyware)

Below you will find a link that will bring you to a page that shows you how to protect your PC from spyware and viruses and all sorts of other nasty things. I've gotten myself into trouble many a time, just ask Joe lol.

Personaly my favorite programs are as follows.

Anit-Virus - AVG
Anti - Spyware - I use Spybot and Ewido
Firewall - Zone Alarm

and I also download Ccleaner and run it every few days.

This along with Service Pack 2 for your computer (if you are using XP) will keep your computer clean. . . I almost feel bad saying this because I've bothered these guys 900000 with spyware because I didnt download those programs lol.

Anyway, I hope your problem isnt to bad.

PJ

Hy there Lh19732006.

Not much wrong there , i dont think these are responsible for the problems you descibed though.

Boot in safemode (hit f8 when booting up) and fix these with hijackthis:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IPInSightLAN 01] "C:\Program Files\BellSouth\Connection Tool\IPClient.exe" -l
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe

Default Okay Did That

Thanks for your reply..I ran Hijack This and fixed the items you suggested. I didn't notice anything different. But I don't know if I was supposed too. Anyways...I am assuming that I didn't have anything threatening on my logs. I am basically just using the process of elimination and if it isn't something malicious causing my computer to act up..it may be the computer itself. Guess I will go to another forum and find out! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my post!!
