I'm a pc novice, but hoping someone can help me out. I picked up a nasty or two from somewhere. Would someone be willing to review my log and in simple language instruct me on how to resolve the issue? Thanks much...

Hi Mark H.

Welcome to PCHF. LOL! The first thing we are going to want to do, is to move your thread OUT of Fixed HijackThis logs. I think you want to get fixed. LOL.

We are really good at basic real life wording, and if for any reason, you do not understand an instruction, don't hesitate to ask.

First, even though you have done HijackThis, I would like you to very carefully follow the instructions for PreWork from my signature. Make sure that you save the ewido log to your desktop so that you can post it back here. And make extra sure that you have the latest version of HijackThis (hereafter typed as HJT) installed into its OWN FOLDER. OK?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hya Markh.

Lets clean that up. Not that much wrong though.

Boot in safemode (hit f8 when booting up) and then fix these with hjt:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Reminder] %WINDIR%\Creator\Remind_XP.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [rmalt] C:\Program Files\winupdates\Keygen.exe
O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System, DisableRegedit=1
Then manually delete the two files in bold , reboot , and post a new hjt log please.
