Default [Fixed] Booting Troubles

First of all, any help will be appreciated. I have no idea what I'm doing...

Now, I've been having computer problems for longer than I can remember, including blue screens of death, probably more than 200... I'm typing in safe mode because I get another bsod when I enter in normal...

At the moment, I don't exaclty know if any of these things are related, but heres what's going on...
  • Started getting ads last night, (clean) from no particular website
  • Noticed a fake spyware remover called PestTrap
  • Thought I deleted pest trap with online directions
  • When IE was opened, it took me immediated to www.securityuptodate.com though it was not my homepage
  • A fake security notice and icon appeared by the clock every 30-ish seconds, and when clicked it took me to a website, maybe the above...
I ran:
  • Spybot S&D
  • Ad Aware
  • and installed Prevx1. It asked me to reboot, so I said yes. When it tried to reboot I got a blue screen of death because "the end-user manually initiated the crashdump" or something. This happens whenever I restart in normal... I'm in safe mode now. It is STOP: 0x000000E ...
  • I have run (in safe mode) all of the above but not Prevx1,
  • I ran Norton Antivirus, and have HJT, should I leave a log?
Thanks for all the help. I'm desperate

Thanks Scouse.

No problem on the late reply, it was certainly worth it. After running Ewido I was able to boot normally. Though it took 80 minutes and 761 infected files... Definately worth it.

Now everything looks fine, no changing pages, pop-ups, or anything but I will post the logs just in case

Thanks again for all the help, this whole thing has taken under a day but it seems like a week. I'll make sure to remember the site for future problems and tell others about it. (I'll still stay to double check the logs)

Thanks again from not only me but everyone you helped, couldn't have done anything with out you.

The Ewido log is too big for attaching...

EDIT: MAKE SURE YOU GO TO "VIEW SOURCE" IF YOU WANT IT ALL STRAIGHTENED OUT :P SORRY

Is that okay?

Hya D0n3y.

Looking pretty good , but these 3 can be fixed with hjt:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE
O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab/Do...ridge-c283.cab
But looking at the infections you mentioned in youre first post lets also run this tool to make sure there fully removed:

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php

When done , please post the C:\smitfraudfix.txt file.

Also i would advice to uninstall CachemanXP. Apps like that aren't nessecary with XP , only use resources them selfs , and can even cause system instability.
