Hello everyone.

I have a tough one here. when winxp starts to boot up the intro music drags. (1st indication of my prob) Then any program I launch takes forever to load, you have to click twice and sometimes three times to get a file to open of a link to open. And when I play any of my music it sounds like I am streaming on a dial-up connection. AVG finds nothing, Housecall cant even launch and I dont see anything in the hjt log (but if its there, you will find it Joe ) Hate to just jump in and lay this on you my first night back but I have been out of state for a few months and mom has been using this pc til now. I have attatched the log and will be online for a while if you need any other info.

Hya T42 , welcome back.

Indeed nothing wrong there , lets see if Ewido or a Panda AV scan find anything wrong:

And post back the logs please.

Have you also had a look to check if it isn't a heat issue?

Ok I got me a few little nasties here, but nothing serious enough to be slowing the system down. It almost seems as though the processor cant keep up. I am at a total loss here, hopefully you will find something I am missing m8. If anyone can It will be you Here are the panda and edwido logs.

Just a bunch of cookies , and one reg entry. Its from Switch but there is no presence of Switch or any of its variants showing in youre logs.

Have you uninstalled Switch in the past already? If not have a look in add/remove programs for it.

And strange that it doesn't show the processor temp , give this app a try:

http://mbm.livewiredev.com/

And have you already looked inside to see if all fans work , and they aren't glogged up with dust?

Also is there anything using a lot of cpu cycles when you look in youre taskmanager?
