I have just tried to uninstall messenger plus and when it came to removing the sponsor program, it said that some files were corrupted and was unable to remove it. is there another way to remove it or should i re-install messenger plus then uninstall it again?

right... I have just run through all the prework, i even ran the optional spysweeper and this is the latest HJT log run from normal mode

Hya SB , can you also post the Ewido log , and since you ran Spysweeper aswell , the log from that to?

And yup , i think the only way is indeed to reinstall messenger plus.


PS , you also still have 2 AV's installed and running. I would disable one of those.

Hi guys, sorry it's taken so long to get back to this topic, been soaking up the sun too much

We have now solved this problem, my dad has gone and bought a new HDD and also a legitimet copy of XP, that turned out to be half his problem.
So now he has a clean and updated with SP2 installation, thanks for all the help.
