A slightly more pressing matter.

i was playing Counter Strike : Source today when my pc froze. I Turned it off using the switch then pressed the switch again to turn it back on. The "packard bell" screen comes up and then... nothing. It just stays there. I've tried restarting multiple times but nothing will work. I cannot turn my pc on. I am making this post from a second pc.

-Turn on
-A bit of text "Nvidea 6800" and that sort of thing
-Packard Bell screen (Freeze)

I have no idea whether its related to the malware, whether its windows being buggy or the latest windows update i downloaded causing the problem.

Also, the following happened yesterday

- my AVG detected a "Trojain.Downloader Exploit" - i selected "heal"
- Spyware Doctor's negligable objects list was "corrputed - this is usually a sign of malware activity. A full system scan is recommended" : The scan found nothing

This followed by my pc passing out comletely the following day.

If nothing helps i might even resort to buying a new pc. If it does come to this - any recommendations?

I waited overnight to see if it was overheating that caused the problem - the pc still wont turn on. Now checking if its a loose stick of RAM.

Managed to get into the BIOS and start up the machine.
Ran AVG: Oh **** eggs

Java/Byteverify found in
- Blackbox.class
- VerifyerBug.class
- beyond.class
- Count.Jar-(random numbers+letters).zip

I think this nightmare isn't quite over yet. Please remove the "fixed" tag on the thread title

That should be easy to get rid of:

Click on Start->Control Panel->Java Plug-in and click on the Cache tab. Then click on the Clear button and hit OK.
If you have Java 1.5, do this instead. Start->Control Panel->Java->Then on the "general" tap below "Temporary Internet Files" click on "Delete Files.." and click OK , and OK.
