Maybe it is an good idea to reinstall Zonealarm , it might have been damaged by a removed virus or trojan ect. Same for AVG.

All scans are malware free now , so hopefully youre atleast rid of that anyway.

Well my pc has also been running slow lately - is it maybe all that anti-spyware software doing real time protection all at once?

I can BEARLY run battlefield 2 which is already a very demanding game spec wise.

That could indeed be so yes , it is not recommended to have more then one anti spyware app running realtime , same for AV , and firewall.

I would disable/remove all but one. Also have you defragged youre HD lately?

Well its been a few weeks - im VERY suspitious that there is something left on my pc that is creating malitious progs

The following:

- i KEEP getting elitebar and vxlook2me finds in my temp folder.
- only recently my spyware doctor has found backdoor.mIRC on several occations

I have not downloaded anything.

Sounds like some backdoor program to me... i am not afreaid of cost, but is there another program out there that can remove such a thing? Or anyone know what this could be?

My history of buggy finds from that download i made a month ago:

Smart-soft threat scanner:
VBS.Generic.268

XoftSpy:
A spyware media player apparently created in September 2003... but i hadn't even had this computer that long.

Spyware doctor:
Trojan.Downloader.Druser
Elitebar
vx.look2me
backdoor.mIRC (recent)*
Hijacked websites (recent)*

Trojan Hunter:
A trojan in a TRUSTED file i downloaded years ago. i know for a fact it isnt spyware. False positive or an "invaded" file?

Spybot s&d:
*Doing Scan Now*

The following found nothing:
Ewido
UnHackme
Spyware Sweeper
Ad-aware

On a good note the windows security alerts are much rarer... but still happen.

Eclosed HiJackThis Log. But apparrently im "clean" atm

I dont see any Elitebar or Look2me related entrys in there , but to make sure download and run these two tools:

Please download LQfix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-Click LQfix.exe and click Next > Next > Install.
  • Leave the default settings, if you change them, the fix will Fail!
  • Now make sure the "Launch LQfix" box is checked.
  • Click the Finish button, after clicking the Finish button the fix will start.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Your system will now reboot afterwards.
  • Please be patient after the reboot, there is a script running in the background that needs to complete.

And also download and run:

http://www.simplytech.it/L2MRemover/index_e.htm

After that , post a new hjt log please.

The look2me remover keeps freezing...
But it found alot of entries in my registry but then... it froze again.
Upon repeating the scan it no longer finds the entries. Did they delete them while i was frozen or is there a problem here?

Both progs run successfully.

HijackThis log attached.
