Hey Guys,

@Needinghelphere, I am very sorry to hear that you made that choice, buying software to clean something it found that it won't clean any other way feels like blackmail to me, and we here know how many wonderful free products are out there.

Hopefully this will work out for you. Please post back if you need further assistance.

I would however recommend that you read the article PCHF Protect Your PC, in my signature, you may identify some areas where you're computer is vulnerable.

Look forward to seeing you in the fourms,

TTFN

LGW

Well i DO still have one problem - The "Windows Security alerts" say i dont have anti-virus software installed and my zonealarm firewall is turned off, both claims are false. Could something still be on my pc? O is this just the "remains" of what it did?

Hey NHH,

Sounds like your rlms (rotton little monsters) keep coming back, so let's do this a bit differently and see if we can get this all cleaned up.

First, I hope that you downloaded CCleaner, also please download Spy Sweeper and RegSupremePro from my signature. Install and update all three programs. Next please download Unhackme to your desktop, but don't do anything with that right now.

Verify that your System Restore is still disabled. Next please boot into Safe Mode, and stay there for the entirety of this fix.

First run CCleaner, click on Options and make sure all options are selected, including Advanced, answer OK to all warnings. Click on Analyze, then Run Cleaner.

Now please run Unhackme, save the log to post back here, do not fix anything until we have looked at the log.

Please run Spy Sweeper next. Under Options, Sweep Options, make sure all of your harddrives are selected. Under What to Sweep, make sure that every option is checked, EXCEPT Do Not Sweep System Restore Folder. Click on Sweep, Start. Let it fix everything that it finds. Save the log after the fix, (lower left corner).

Now run CCleaner again, after the cleaner, click on Issues, make sure that all options are selected, click on Scan for Issues, then Fix Selected Issues, name the backup today's date, and let it fix everything that it finds. Reboot into normal mode.

Run RegSupremePro, it will want to create a backup, let it. Click on Registry Cleaner tab, select Aggressive. When it has finished, click on Select, choose All. Click on Fix, and let it fix everything that it finds.

Turn your computer off (not a restart), leave it off for a couple of minutes, then reboot. Next verify that your Anti-virus software is enabled, and verify that Zone Alarm has Windows Firewall disabled. Please post back with the Unhackme and Spy Sweeper logs, and let us know if you are still having difficulties.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

Are it legit popups from the real windows security center? You can check that by going to control panel/security center , and then check if it reports the same there.

And is windows fully up to date , and youre AV and ZA are that the latest versions?

all my AV progs and ZA is up to date and its a legit alert.

Now doing the scans in safemode and will post results when finished.

And about safemode, i press F8 and all that comes up is a list of three "boot devices" - nowhere does it say "safe mode" or anything like that. Having a few probs.

You can also get in safemode trough , start/run/msconfig and then on the boot.ini tap select "safeboot" , press apply and reboot.
