Default [Resolved] High Jack Log Files

What a load of things you have to do to post a hjt log here,
why can't one just copy and paste like you can on other forums,
its only that I am interested to know the answer,as to a novice like me it seems quite daunting I have run off 6 printed A4 pages of your instructions,I shall have a go and would dearly love to print my log here but there again how does one send it as an attachment?
sorry to seem a bit thick but am willing to have a go.

Down at the first fence.........
1) On the tools menu in windows explorer, click folder options.

Guess what ? Nothing that says folders options.

Hhmm.. Maybe you are in internet explorer , instead of windows explorer?

And how much is it actually? Changing 2 windows settings , run a temp file cleaner and an malware scanner? It doesn't take more then 5 minutes to do , apart from the scanning time.

Itas getting late but I think the penny has dropped, windows explorer,of course, why didn't you say

Had a go to carry out everything before hjt log, printed 6 pages to follow, got to "follow instructions for Ewido here"
but as I had printed instructions I could not obviosly "click here" so I gave it a miss, bit complicated if you don't know how.

hey charles. I have taken the time to merge some of your posts, as double posting is against our TOS here at PCHF. I hope joe can help you solve your problem.

So youre stuck on the Ewido instructions?

This is the only part that has to be done in safemode , the rest can be done with the page open in normal mode:

Once in safemode , start Ewido and perform the scan with these setting:

Close all open windows/programs/folders before running Ewido!
Have nothing else open while ewido performs its scan!
  • Click on Scanner , Settings
  • Under "How to scan" all boxes should be selected
  • Under "Possibly unwanted software" all boxes should be selected
  • Under "What to scan" select scan every file
  • Click OK, Complete system scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
  • If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification.
DO NOT check "Perform action with all infections!"
If you are unsure of an entry, select "none" for the time being. We will see that in the log when you post it later and let you know if ewido needs to be run again.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report.
Click Save report , save it to your desktop. Then exit ewido and reboot youre pc.
You dont have to printout/do in safemode anything else.
