Default [Resolved] HELP: I cant find system32 folder

Hi there

Yesterday my brother download some keyloggers and i mean they was infected with trojans i just have look using bitdefender, kaspersky av personal pro and norton and i cant restore the folder.

Of course i have set on windows options "Show hideen folders and files" but anyway i cant see system32...i can enter using the explorer command (ex typing: c:\windows\system32) and also i have try use some tools as "the Cleaner" "Trojan Remover" "Ad-Aware Pro" "Spybot Search & Destroy" "XoftSpy SE" and "eWido Anty-Malware" following the instructions step by step posted here on the main forum and others for fix registry problems as "Registry Mechanic" and "Registry Firts Aid" and cleaners as "CCleaner".

And now i start to have alot of problems as malfunction software (before the infection was working fine) or sometime i cant connect to internet (im on cable 300 kbps) so please someone can help me?

Heres my hijack log:

The last scan with bitdefender it say i found 2 trojans:

Trojan.Peflog.A
Trojan.Downloader.Smal.On

And with kaspersky only Trojan.Downloader.X where X its A,B,C.etc in total 7 files infected actually deleted but anyway i still cant see the system32 folder and im not sure if im still infected with other virus or trojans according to malfunction of my sytem.

So please if anyone can help i have try something but seems like im lost...

See ya and thanks in advance

Hya kenjiro|sanga , welcome to PCHF.

Youre hjt log is clean , but there does seem to be something wrong with youre Norton internet security , it is not running properly and probebly damaged.
I would advice to re-install it again.

Does any of the AV and anti spyware apps still find any infections , or do they come up clean now?

Give this a try:

go to start / run and in the run window type in:
sfc /scannow >enter
Have you XP CD in youre drive, and it'll run itself, replacing any missign or damaged protected XP files.

And also do a Panda AV scan here:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan

And post the log from it , but please attach it to a post instead of pasting it in.

Yeah the problem with norton internet security was i have uninstall (when i wanted test with other av softwares as bitdefender, mcafee and kaspersky) but when i was unsinstalling my pc shutdown i dont know why and now when try reinstall norton i get alot of errors...

About if the current av and spyware softwares detects something...well i cant complete full scan of my system because ex. when i try scan fully using kaspersky the machine restarts on any time (not an some file or some process specifically) i have try do it 2 times and always happens just its as i press the reset button phisically...the spyware softwares dont seem detect more threats

Ill try scan with that active scan from panda but i hope dont happen that again (restart of my machine)

And abaout restore the damaged protected xp files im not sure if that an good option beacuse my cd its with only the firts xp not sp2 or sp1 so i dont know if doing that ill cause more troubles...

And so that problem that i cant see system32 folder can be an problem of virus or how can fix it ??

See and thanks for all

P.D. Im scanning now with panda active scan ill post the when finish...if i can...

EDIT: GOD i cant scan when im scanning i get blue screen with some advices abaout memory and other things i dont understend and the machine restarts i have try scan 2 times and always happen that and not happens on some file or process particurally...its happens on any time of the scan process as the same with kaspersky...

Give this Norton removal tool a try;

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...=&osv=&osv_lvl=

And then try to reinstall again.

Sounds like it could be a ram , or a heat prob. Ill get to that in a bit.

You can run it anyway , it wont revert back to plain XP or something.
But if while scanning it doesn't find a file , try to point it to the C:\windows\i386 folder instead.

If it can't find a file anywhere , then please write down the file name(s).

And so that problem that i cant see system32 folder can be an problem of virus or how can fix it ??

Go to start/run/cmd <press enter , and then type/copy:

attrib -a -h -r -s c:\windows\system32

And see if the system32 folder shows again.

See and thanks for all

Have a look with this app to see what the tempertures , and the voltages of youre pc are and report back the readings please:

http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

And you can test youre ram with this app:
