Default [Clean] Cant get on the net with IE6

Hi Everyone!
I have a problem with IE6. I only get the "Cannot find server error" error message and "This page cannot be displayed" error. I am able connect using AOL's browser. In running ths problem by ESET technical support they told me it sounded like my browser had been hijacked so I downloaded hijack this and ran it in safe mode. I also downlaoded EWIDO and ran it safe mode, but it didn't find much other than tracking cookies. My logs are attached. Can you please help?

Thanks much
DLisko

Hya Dlisko.

You can fix these with hjt:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
And then please post a hjt log out of normal mode , not everything shows up in an hjt log in safemode.

Have you got the browser set to automatically detect your proxy settings?

Tools >>> Internet Options >>> Connections Tab >>> LAN Settings >>> Put a check in the box that says "Automatically Detect Settings"

Default How do I use HJT to fix the problem

Thanks again for all of your help. I do have the browser set to automatically detect settings.
I don't know how to use HJT. Do I merely check the boxes to fix the problems ? I'm sorry this is so basic, but I've never used this before.
I appreciate your patience.

Do you use ZoneAlarm? This software can sometimes cause this error
