Default Thanks

I am seeing no problems at this time!!!!
If you are referring to updating my Windows to SP2, I think I will pass, at least for now....SP2 is a big hog, and my system isnt quite ready for that yet, but I have installed all the priority updates beside that.
This mess up I experienced was of my own stupidity trying to find a shortcut for something....and got a virus instead. First virus problem in 3 yrs...not to bad, but when I mess up, I do it well.
Until you helped me, I had never heard of any of the programs I had to use to remove my problem, and there are soooooooooo many fixes out there its hard to know these days what is safe or not.
Besides for Spybot, Lavasofts-Ad-aware SE Plus, Zone Alarm, and my AV program, do you have any recommendations for prevention?

Two great apps are IE-Spyad and Spywareblaster , they dont remove malware but prevent it from being installed in the first place:

and:

If you are looking for scanners/removers then i would also recommend Ewido , Spysweeper (not free) and windows defender.

Thumbs up Thank You Very Much

Of all the tools I used to fix this problem....Ewido impressed me the most. But, its only a 14 day trial....I will look into a purchase, perhaps.

If we could leave this thread open till Monday morning, that would be nice....just in case!

Ewido is indeed worth the purchase , but i must add then you can use the app to scan and manually update for as long as you want. Only the autoupdate and realtime protection get disabled after 14 days , so you dont have to buy it , but as i said the app is worth the support to buy it.

And ill leave the topic here for a bit , but even after it is marked fixed and moved , you still always can reply back , they dont get locked.
