Sure , if you dont use them then they only take up disk space.
I downloaded RegSupremePro, downloaded/ran
Shoot the Messenger and fixed the two files in HijackThis. It removed the two files, but I did get an error saying: "Unexpected error occurred. Error #52 (bad file name or #) in Sub GetlongPath (?.exe.) Send report to
merijn@spywareinfo.com and mention what you are doing and the version of windows you have." I did not email this person - should I?
Nah , thats not nessecary. I think Merijn has recieved enough of those by now , lol. But hjt still works even if you get that error , so no problem.
I then ran RegSupremePro, ran CCleaner, and restarted my PC. When I ran RegSupremePro it said it corrected 21 items and removed 704 in order to fix.
I retried Joe's instructions but it didn't work. The only line under "web pages" says "my current home page" which is CNN. I then ran a new
HJT log and have posted that.
Thanks.
Have you added that youreself by any change? Doesn't sound like a page that malware would use.
First download this reg fix , unzip it and dubbel click on it to enter it in the registry.

If that doesn't fixes the prob:
Download Smitrem to your desktop:
http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click...click.php?id=1
Run the installer and then press Start to Extract the
files to the desktop, Do not run it yet.
Reboot into safe mode (Reboot and keep tapping F8 then
choose safe mode from the list)
Run SmitRem:
Open the SmitRem folder and double click the "RunThis.bat"
file to start the tool , Follow the prompts on
screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of the drive that you ran the batch file on, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please attach this log to your next reply.
