Ummm, no, you should at least some some forward progress. You made an excellent point, it may be that the virus is trying to protect itself. We have ways around that, get rid of the rest and we'll try something else for that rlm (rotton little monster)

Alright, I'll skip the housecall and start with fixwareout and continue from there straight through to posting the logs. Guess we'll have to figure it out from there, if those programs don't zap it... hopefully.

BTW... no, I didn't draw my avatar. It's my caricature from last year's art festival. I needed an avatar, and couldn't think of anything better (or more original) to use.

Well enough blabbing... time to tear my registry apart.

Question Is it over? Or just the eye of the hurricane?

I've done everything... and think I figured out why Housecall wasn't working. My Microsoft Antispyware was blocking it from installing. I allowed it just now for future use.

So, I think it may finally be over. The HijackThis log indicates a few missing files... but I guess you'll tell me whether or not to worry. My avast isn't tipping me off to anything anymore, and the system is running smoothly.

And now, Doctor.... the test results for your analysis.

that sounds positive,

Let me look over the logs, and I'll be right back.

OK, HJT looks good, I would reinstall Avast however, and if you had an override on your Brother to allow Popups, I would reinstall or reenable that as well,

Let me quickly check the other two.

:hello2: WooHoo!! Nice Job!! You are looking clean to me, all of the virus' and traces cleared.

If you would like to make sure you are running lean and mean, I always recommend a registry cleanning to get rid of any stragglers.

You can download the trial version of RegSupremePro from my signature.

Install and run it. It will want to create a backup of your cache, let it. Once it has finished, click on the Registry Cleaner tab. Choose Aggressive.
Let it run. When it is done, click on Select, choose All. Click on Fix, and let it fix everything it finds.

Run CCleaner one more time, reenable your System Restore, and I think you are good to go.
