OK, Oender, we will look for your post.
BTW, the Pop up addresses, are most likely associated with the Adware Look@Me rlm (rotton little monster) I am pretty sure that the fixes I posted will take care of that.

There was an error transmitting data from internet. Do you want Tren Micro HouseCall try again?

If I click YES the same alert pop up again. I also tried Java and ActiveX versions in both browsers without success; there is an offline version of Housecall? or may i skeep this steep?

 Hey Oender,

Welcome home!

Sounds like the worm is protecting itself. Let's try something else, do I remember correctly that you have Kapersky as your anti-virus program?

Or try Panda active scan:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

or any of the others in the "online AV scans" link below.

Question I thnik da nasty worm has gone but..

Hello all!

Last night was a very long one…

I did al steeps that you ask, I can not run the on line tests, I think was an issue of security levels and activex settings on internet explorer. I skip that steep and did the rest.
Also I downloaded McAfee Antispyware Enterprise program, and install last definitions, reboot in safe mode and run a full scan. This program finds tons of bad boys. I remove all. Too many “look2me” lines! Other malware was detected too.
I repeat all the instructions that ladygreenwitch ask.

(CCleaner again, next, I ran RegSupremePro with, Aggressive mode, and again CCleaner and Ewido, then reboot again in safe mode and scanned with CA PestPatrol. It finds 1 entire related to “look4me”.) I also rescan system with the antivirus Kaspersky Pesronal Pro.

Then reboot in normal mode and the banners and da nasty worm has gone! But there is more! Now the pc is running slow or has interment “brain paralysis” it freezes a second or 2, constantly. Also Kaspersky pop ups a window with the message:

Attention! Your computer has been attacked from internet. Network attack “Helkern” form address 219.138.207.29 has been successfully repelled.

Messenger goes offline constantly too. It occurs when pc freezes momentarily. :computer_

Witch antivirus program should I use? Before I install kasper, I used for log time Avast Pro Antivirus with very good results.

Now I upload HJT Log again!

Please tell me if i need to delete more lines form HJT next scan.

:computer_

Hi Oender,

sounds like you're having a rough time here... I recommend AVG antivirus. For the first go try the full version's 30 day trial. After that, the free version should work fine and has done a great job on my machine since I first stumbled upon it.

Is your computer fully updated and do you have the lates service pack installed (SP4 for Win2000 and SP 2 for XP)? A lot of people don't like these because of a slight resource drain but I still recommend having them.

Two other programs that work very well together are Spybot S&D and Ad Aware SE ( I know that's very close to the domain name you saw when you canned that connection but I assure you it is NOT Malware ).

Give those a try and let us know how things are.

Good luck and welcome to your new Tech Support home.

BTW, I've used Kaspersky and had a lot of trouble with it, since then I've decided that AVG Free edition was the AV for me, I still use Ewido (thanks to this site) and Trend Micro's online scan to seal up any "cracks".
