Everything seems to be working, for the most part, but just to be sure, can we keep this topic open?

Also, more importantly, you mentioned in an earlier post that my PC is SERIOUSLY out of date, so how do I go about bringing it up to speed?

But, before all of that...

C:\WINDOWS\CDPROXYSERV.EXE

C:\WINDOWS\SCHEDUL3.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\$SYS$CAJ.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\$SYS$UPGTOOL.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ERASEME_24274.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ERASEME_77280.EXE

Those six have popped up on my AntiVir notification while running Ad-Aware SE.

You can always repley back , even after a topic is marked fixed if you want. Or start a new topic.

Also, more importantly, you mentioned in an earlier post that my PC is SERIOUSLY out of date, so how do I go about bringing it up to speed?

If you , in an I.E. window , click on "tools/windows update" then you get directed automaticly to the windows update site.

But, before all of that...

C:\WINDOWS\CDPROXYSERV.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SCHEDUL3.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\$SYS$CAJ.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\$SYS$UPGTOOL.EXE

That are probebly "left over" files , atleast nothing seems to be running atm.
You can boot in safemode and delete those files.

And as a last check to make sure there really isn't anything running:

Please download and run silentrunners:
http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.zip
Unzip it, then double click to run it. After a couple of minutes, a log will open in notepad. Paste the contents to a post here please.

I tried to open Silent Runners, but is there a particular program I have to run the file in?

Hi Gray,

You will need to unzip the files using either an unzip utility or something like WinRar. Usually if you double click the file your PC will automatically pull up the utility you have available. Otherwise, download WinRar, open it and choose the Silent Runners zip file, then follow the Wizard.

Let us know if you need more instructions.

I have Winrar, but when I unzip the folder, all that's inside is a file with a vbs extension.

When I double-click on the file, this message shows up:

Script: C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\Silent Runners\Silent Runners.vbs
Line: 85
Char: 13
Error: Could not create object named "WScript.Shell"
