Hello there, Welcome to PCHF

It is necessary to save these instructions since you will need to close the browser windows at some point.

Before starting please run an online scan [here]

Then download install and run [CleanUp] Please also download [Pocket Killbox] and [LSP Fix] (do not use LSP Fix unless advised to!).

Go to Start > Control Panel or Start > Run > type control and then select Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall the following should they be listed...
  • MyWay, MyWebSearch, MySearch or similar
  • eZshopper
  • WebHancer
  • MSN Messenger Plus
Note: Messenger Plus is a third-party application that installs software that is deemed to be malware (Lop.com to be precise). Entries in you logfile show that you accepted this when installing the program. It is advised to either install MSN Messenger 7 from the Microsoft website or reinstall Plus but deny permission to install other software with it.

Open HijackThis and run a scan, then place a checkmark next to the following entries that are still listed...

...then close ALL BROWSERS and other applications and proceed to "Fix Selected".

Open Pocket Killbox and select the option to remove on next reboot. Copy/paste the following one at a time into the text box a press the red X icon for each, confirming the prompts...
  • C:\WINDOWS\system32\hlwin.dll
  • C:\windows\system32\elitetgx32.exe
  • C:\WINDOWS\etb\pokapoka75.exe
Once all is complete, rescan with CleanUp and then reboot the machine.

Please produce another logfile from HijackThis for posting to your next reply. I also recommend a further scan at TrendMicro.

Regards,
M_M

Aye, at least the instructions are. As for what needs to be removed, they are not safe...there's some well-known adware floating around on your system, for which the advice should remove or will at least get the ball rolling :afro:
