so do you mean get rid of Norton Internet Secrurity or Spy Sweeper ??? and if so i choose Norton would i need to get another program which is like that ??

i uninstalled the msn toolbar thing and not msn itself,and thx for leaving the link to the hijackthis bootcamp im always looking to learn new things which might be helpful to me !!

Does youre "Norton Internet Secrurity" have built in spy/ad ware protection? If not , then you can keep both running at the same time.

Did removing that toolbar help with youre prob?

i believe i fixed my prob with latency by removing the msn toolbar but then again i only tried to play the game once so i wont count my chickens just yet !!!

@Joe, I believe that the whole deal with NSS is that it is supposed to do everything for you. My understanding was that you could disable parts that you didn't want to use, but everything that I have read said this didn't work out very well.

@Rob, You're choice as to which program to choose. My comment is based on both my husband's experience and the things I have read, as well as my previous experience with Symantec full service products.

They are system hogs
They are incredibly invasive
They are very iffy about interacting with other programs.

If you wanted my personal opinion, I would scrap everything except Norton Anti-Virus, use the sheilds from Spy Sweeper, install Spyware Blaster, and a free firewall, this will give you some info,PCHF Firewall Article. I think you will find that you have less slowdown, and less conflicts.

Hmm before i read your last post,i had got rid of Norton Internet Secrirty and put AVG and kerrio personal firewall on instead,everythings seem's to be workin ok ...
