:-D Hey Patti,

Girl! What in heavens name are you doin' on your PC to get yourself all reinfected?? :-o

I'm waiting to hear about your new business and when you're gonna be in my neck o' the woods and you have gotten yourself all kind of messed up

I'm a little concerned about the number of times that your 010 entry for AVG is coming up, and I have a sneaking suspicion that your WebIq may be allowing in things you don't want.

For now, I would delete everything in the C:\!Submit folder, as it is probably a quarentine area that is showing you falsely that you are infected.

I would also like you to read this, PCHF Protecting Your PC. Make sure you are covering yourself so you can work on that business of yours.

I'm sure that Joe will chime in with what he thinks about those two things that are concerning me. Everything else is looking good.

How is your computer responding now?
Look forward to your reply,

Hi T!

Yep, I missed the boat on buying the Antivirus subscription by 1/2 a day. Man, these little suckers are fast and sneaky!

I think I'll be doing a show in Lakeport on November and a couple locals before Christmas, but I'm not up to Marin County traffic yet. Yikes! Gives me the shivers thinking about keeping up with the big crowd. Hopefully in a year or so I will get goin and have some help, but for now it's just lil ol me. I do some fill in ebay stuff, but the good stuff is yet to come...

What is an 010 entry and what is WebIQ? I'm happy tp delete any and everything that is not necessary if it will make this go far away.

I just went to delete the !Submit folder contents and there are like 1300 things in there. Just want to be sure I want to delete them all first, so have not done so yet. Any concerns with that?

I will take your advice and go and read "Protecting your PC ". I am a reasonably intelligent person, but all of the spyware, malware, shredders, busters, firewalls, ativirus, antiwrinkle stuff can be pretty confiusing. I have downloaded what seems like a lot of malware scanning/busting programs and the next one usually seems to find things that the last one didn't. Some even pick up the other malware programs and show them as infections. If anyone ever created the end all be all find it and delete it all malware program, I AM IN .

Oh, and my computer seems to be responding just fine. I really hadn't even noticed and performance issues. I just knew when I saw the " you are no longer protected " box pop from AVG that it was too late and started running scans.

:-D I think the only way we are going to put an end to this is if the death penalty is invoked on malware writers. lol.

Hey you know what, I don't even know what you make or do? You just sound so excited about it, I guess your enthusiasm was infectious.

As far as all the information I can gather, !System can go, it's not your Windows System or anything having to do with that.

:-D I thought you would have looked at so many HJT logs by know you'd know them by heart. lol.

The numbers down the left hand side correspond to different types of entries. You have like 10 or 12 of the same entry in your section 010. If you don't know what WebIq is, you need to fix this entry.

I'll look forward to hearing about your business stuff, but unless Joe sees something that I am missing, you're clean once again. Yahoo!!

Looks like youre almost there

If you delete the C:\!Submit and these last three:

C:\WINDOWS\KB842773.log:enfiw:$DATA
C:\WINDOWS\n_ikmezs.txt:enoprq:$DATA
C:\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log:eugpq:$DATA

Then it looks like youre clean.

OK- I get it about the 010 entries. I was just not connecting that with HJT. After about midnight a little elf ? comes and disconnects wires in my brain (funny, when I was younger I could be awake for days and he never showed up)

I deleted:

WebIQ using HJT
!Submit
C:\WINDOWS\KB842773.log:enfiw:$DATA ?
C:\WINDOWS\n_ikmezs.txt:enoprq:$DATA ?
C:\WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log:eugpq:$DATA

Looks like that's it!

Yay! ? ? Yay!

Ah, I am glad I sound infectious! I AM excited! I went to Humboldt State U to be a jewelry designer, but fate took me in different directions. I finally had the opportunity to do what I love, so I figured, hey- why not? I may not get another chance, so if it works out, great! If not, at leat I gave it a shot. I opened a jewelry and custom metal work business ( just a small ?home shoestring thing to start). I have been doing brass work, making people's name into brass wire ornaments, on eBay for a couple of Christmas seasons and had great response, so am branching out to ?jewelry deisgn. I am working mostly in Sterling Silver and semi precious stones now, but do some gold/gold filled. If it works out, I will branch out more. Here are a couple of pics. I am not selling yet or anything, juts to give ?you an idea of what I do. ?
?

Thank you so incredibly much joe5 and T! I truly appreciate yout time and expetise! You rock! :
