Hi Joe,

Sorry it is a typing problem. I meant "rundll32.exe".

The thing is that these two processes, "rundll32.exe" and "rstrui.exe", are not woking properly. The first is related to My PC properties and the second, logically, to the System Restore.

I hope this can help...

Then that file is ok , the one with 3 l's would have been a virus. Rundll.exe is responsible for a lot of things , not just youre pc properties:

Microsoft?s ?Run a DLL as an App?. A DLL is a Dynamic Link Library. In layman and [very] simplistic terms a DLL is a portion of a software program which is only used by the main program as and when specific features of the software are used by the end user (for instance the PRINT function in your wordprocessor). The main advantage is that, using this technique, programmers can develop software which does not end up gobbling up memory through the whole program loading in one go, but which instead only uses enough memory for the core functions of the program, with specific features, implemented in separate DLL files, only loaded as and when the end-user decides to use them (ie. The Print DLL will only be loaded into memory when the end-user clicks on PRINT). Another advantage is that the software developers can also have common features which they have implemented across a range of their programs, implemented just the one time as a shared DLL which is used by all that developer?s programs. RUNDLL32 is the Microsoft Windows program that needs to be used to load DLLs into memory so that they can be used by specific programs or by Windows.
Ill see if i can find anything else on youre prob.

You can always try ofcourse.

this is for an english version of windows , if you have an other version then please report first what language you have!

How to install

Note: all files are zipped and can be opened with a file compression program like WinZip if you don't have one already.

Windows XP:
Download the copy for your Windows version and unzip it first into the folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache (overwriting any existing copy), then into the folder it needs to go for your Windows version. in this case:

Windows XP: C:\WINDOWS\System32

rundll32.exe

reboot and see if it works.

Hi guys,

I did it and this is the result:

- Open My Pc properties: ok, and system restore is able.
- Open Restore System: ok
- Create a restore point: the program again hangs.
- Try to open again My Pc properties: the program now hangs. :banghead:

So, we are in the same point.

I am sorry,

Hi Joe and tjnbarbour,

Very good, good news guys!!!! Now all is working: My Pc properties, System restore, I can create new restore points. WONDERFUL!!!

How??? Perhaps you are asking. Well, I hope this be working always, if not is the case, I am sorry, but I will be here again. The solution:

I have uninstall the antivirus and take out from the startup list the ASUS monitor (because this last one was always the last to be charged). I have rebootet the system and...WORKING FINE.

As I told above, let's see if this is a lasting thing.

I want to give you, guys, thans for your help, interest and good way to teach me and also for your patient (specially because my English).

Please, do not let this wonderful forum. I will be back, and not for problems.

Cheers,
