Default [resolved] Computer acting slow
Hi peeps! Lately my computer has been fine but very slow at starting up and shutting down. I have the bare essentals starting up in msconfig and i do manually end processes before i shut down.

I went into safe mode to re create the Prefetch folder that mysterestly dissappeared and i also defragged. I notced this drop in performance when i came to restart the PC.

Nothing really bad but these can be fixed:

And i see a bunch of different spyware progs running on youre comp , do you use more then one "shield" at the same time ? (I.E. Spybot's Teatimer or Ad-Aware's ad-warch enz) because that could cause conflicts in the same way when you use 2 AV scanners at the same time and cause slowdowns.

For spyware protection i use Teatimer, sptwareGuard and Spywareblaster.

Ill go ahead and delete those entries

It's best to use one real time spy-ware protection only , if you use more then one they will start fighting with each other and can take up alot resources. You can scan with as many apps as you want , that doesn't cause probs but only use one shield at the same time.

Do you know what this is? It wasn't in youre first log.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mdsdev.exe

And this one came back somehow or you forgot it:

O23 - Service: Registry Management Service (RegManServ) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Registry Defragmentation\RegManServ.exe (file missing)

So have you tried uninstalling some of those spyware programs? Causse you dont really need all of them, with just the Microsoft Spyware Program and maybe Ad Aware should be enough! Have you also tried deleting temp files from the C:/Documents and Settings/Your Account Name/Local Settings? You can manually delete some stuff from the folder called Temp, temporary internet files, and history! That sort of helps my computer be a little bit more faster. Also after that try to delete stuff using the Disk Cleanup utility thats in your system tools folder. Hope that helps! ?

?That last entry you mentioned: 023 i cant get rid of.
