[Fixed] Hijackthis! Logs - [Fixed] Wallpaper option disabled... posted in the Security & Safety forums; Hey, i have just had alot of spyware on my comp which i have manged to delete using a few programs...however the spyware changed my wallpaper to its own advertisment ...

Hey, i have just had alot of spyware on my comp which i have manged to delete using a few programs...however the spyware changed my wallpaper to its own advertisment wallpaper and disabled me from changing it....it now looks something like this...

Does anyone know how to undisable this option so i can edit my wallpaper again? thanx....just incase it helps im using Win ME? :oops:

Welcome dannn

The spyware could have changed the "Active Desktop Settings", try the following
  • Open the Control Panel.
  • Open Display Properties.
  • Click the Web tab in the Display Properties window

Make sure that "Show Web content on my Active Desktop" is unchecked.

Next go to "Handy Tools" in my signature and install Microsoft Antispware and scan your PC... if the problem persists then run a HijackThis log and post it on the site.

also the microsoft antispware thing doesnt work with WIN ME :-(

Is that all your got from the HiJackThisLog??

Download and install these antispyware tools, boot your PC into safemode and run them from there.

Sorted mate thanks :-), the ad-aware did the job...I did use it before i wrote on this forum but it didnt work then :s....thanks again anyway :-)
