****!!!! Last night I though it was gone just got home from work turned on the computer and it's back.
Ran a full Norton Virus scan, Ad-Aware scan, and SpyBot scan, what ever this is none of these programs are detecting it. I realized a few days ago when the window popped up I could open task manager right click on the pop up window in running applications and click on go to process and from there stop the process and it's always three to five number.exe different numbers each time. Downloaded Process Explorer from PC World and waited for that darn Italian pop up didn't have to wait very long. My son does alot of downloading and I'm afraid this problem is from something he installed unknowingly while installing something else.

Try installing Microsoft Antispyware this program should popup and tell you when those files try to install themselves, it should also help to clear out your system.

Have you upgraded to Service Pack 2 on windows XP yet, if not then I recommend it because of the built in firewall.

Last but not least run Stinger on your system, this will kill any trojan you might have on your machine.

Hi, I downloaded the Microsoft Antispyware it found somethings Ad-aware and Spybot didn't. But I still have the same problem. Only now when the pop up window comes up Micro-spyware warns me but it still changes my homepage and puts all those files on my computer. Also since downloading this new spyware program I found out I have another problem. Whenever I turn on my computer a warning from Micro spyware pops up that Comet Systems is trying to install. I keep removing it through Micro-spyware but everytime I boot up it happens again. Hope someone can help me this spyware is driving me nuts!!!
