I'm on the XP firewall, runs ok, but takes up more quite a lot of RAM even when I'm not online. Any idea how much RAM will Zone Alarm take? I think its kinda better than the XP firewall, but if it eats up more RAM, then I don't think I'll get it. Thanks.
I've just upgraded my wireless router and installed XP SP2 and enabled the firewall. Me, little old anti M$ me has gone down the M$ route for his protection (combined with his router's NAT). I've run every test under the sun and nothing so far has got in!!!??!!!
If you want a very good idea of how secure you are pay a visit to www.grc.com. Its a very good site with some very good testing tools.
Kind regards
Simon

Norton AV 2005 asks me to disable my SP2 firewall cuz it interupts their Internet Worm Protection thingy. Oh well, at least it manged to stop a lot of stuff, mainly Trojan Horses from coming in. But I still wonder about spyware.................
i use the sygate professional firewall, its not the free version but worth the cost, and i think its less complciated to use than ZA which was plain confusing to me, sygate keeps it simple. Basically anything u dont recognise that trys to connect to net it tells u and as long as u dont recognise it you just block it, with ZA it asks u a million questions about processes uv never herd of, u block them and them your pc goes funky or your internet dosent work. I use pc cillin anti virus along side this firewall for the ultimate protection, i used to use bit defender antivirus and luved it but it cost too much
