Default Firewall Question

Hi

Can someone suggest a good firewall. I'm using Comodo Firewall Pro but I think it's really slowing my system down. I installed ZoneAlarm but that has just completely messed things up, kept freezing PC when I boot-up.

Using Windows Firewall at the moment but I'm worried it's not a great firewall so need any suggestions on a good firewall other than the two I've mentioned

Thanks in advance

Because I've heard it's unreliable

How safe is Windows Firewall then?

I have Vista and I haven't had any problems with its Windows Firewall.

I think it's more important to have good AV and Anti-spyware programs.

Of course, it's also important not to be going to the obvious bad/dirty sites.

I've no way of telling if it's running at all times as I don't have an icon on my system tray.

By the way, I'm using Windows XP Service Pack 2

Also, does Windows Firewall ever update definition files?

Check your Task Manager to see what is running.
There are a lot of things that are running on your computer that doesn't show up on your system tray.

The firewall should block everything unless you give it an exception.
Therefore, it doesn't need updates in that respect.

Does Windows Firewall have pop-up warnings like ZoneAlarm and Comodo?
