Firewalls - [Answered] Very slow downloads posted in the Security & Safety forums; My wireless connection says it's running at 24Mg/s but whenever I download anything it runs from 60Kb/s to 800Kb/s. Could my firewall be doing this?...

Question [Answered] Very slow downloads

My wireless connection says it's running at 24Mg/s but whenever I download anything it runs from 60Kb/s to 800Kb/s. Could my firewall be doing this?

Hi egglesworth, 24mb/s will be megaBITE where 60 - 800kb will be BYTE...there is a difference.

Downloads speeds also depend on the servers/sources you are downloading them from.

the connection speeds of your wireless have nothing to do with your internet speeds, unless your wireless is extremely shocking, but by looking at the speedtest, i would say that that is a very fast speed compared to what most people would have, remember, your network wont limit your download, your ISP will. i hope to be getting an 8mb/s connection soon myself
