ID thieves are not known for their kindness. I have seen the ugly results up close and personal... I am a Postman (hence my username). No security is perfect, & the damage can be devastating.
Number one in growth-of-incidents worldwide ? ID theft.

It was a joke mate, I've seen something (pretty small) involving creditcard fraud and it wasn't too nice, wouldn't wish for anyone to have it happen to them especially since this was comparitively minor.

I knew you were joking, man. No worries.

I've just seen Grandma's with wrecked credit/collection agencies/stressed out of their blue-haired heads-- by some **** from another country-- who they can't even find. Makes me sick.

About wireless: most importantly: don't broadcast your SSID .

I only enable that once I get the encryption in order and everything works and all. If you enable it before debugging your setup, it gets annoying.

About firewall: I find the windows one to be not very intuitive and not really comfortable to configure. I had zonealarm for a long time, that one's good (pro version has more features). If you want to do less configuring by hand go with Norton Internet Security and the firewall that's in there. It mostly configures itself and needs little input from you.

I'd suggest a security suite that includes a firewall, too. If you go for Norton Internet Security as has been suggested, try to get a hold of the 2008 version. It's supposed to have some improvements over the 07 version.
Overall, I think a security suite makes it easier to handle antivirus, firewall and the like, since it's all configurable via one interface and there can't be as much trouble in communication between the different features of the suite as there probably is, when you have everything separately.

Default Installing 2nd Processor

Can some please help!
I have recently bought a Compaq Presario SR1820NX with a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2Ghz processor. The mother board is a AN8-LA and has a 939 socket and is able to take x2 processors. As I am looking to install a second processor my question is am I able to install any AMD Athlon processor e.g. : an

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2Ghz 939 socket or
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4200+ 2.2Ghz 939 socket or even a
AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ 3.0Ghz 939 socket

Or because the processor already installed is a Athlon 64 3400+ does that mean I need to install only a second Athlon 64 3400+ ????

Any help would be much appreciated , thank you very much

Hi TheCount and welcome to PCHF
Unfortunatly your problem has nothing to do with this thread, therefore I would advise you to create your own topic.
Follow this link please http://www.pchelpforum.com/processor-cpu/ and create a topic
