Default [Pending] Does my modem have a firewall built in?

I don't think it has, but then again i'm not sure... I have recently downloaded windows service pack 2 for windows XP, and i have turned off the windows firewall because i already have zone alarm which has been protecting my computer quietly from the system tray for years, and it does a good job of it most of the time... But i'm having mad connection stability problems with a multiplayer video game i play called battlefield2, i'm randomly getting disconnected from servers due to "problems with your connection".

When i go to play the game, i turn everything off, firewalls, anti virus, messengers, internet etc. but i'm still getting these problems which leads me to believe i may have another firewall built into my modem that i didn't know existed...

The above is a picture of the screen where i can manage my connection... The bottom two are the ones i use that need to be connected for the internet to work, from that screen what do i need to click to check if my modem has a firewall built in?

Thank you all for your help in advance. :computer_

Is this a modem on its own or a modem/router? Try looking in control panel > phone and modem options.

As far as i know it's a modem... I don't even know what a router is...

It's gonna sound dumb but in the following sentence or two i shall explain, and hopefully you can tell me if it's a router or not.

The modem doesn't connect to a phone line, it connects to a box on the wall with wire which leads outside and under the ground...

Since i posted first i've discovered that the 1394 connection doesn't even need to be connected... So i've turned that off (by right clicking and clicking disconnect) and i played the game for 30 minutes or so... No kicks for having connection problems but there was a 10 second freeze where the message "there is a problem with your connection" appeared, but then it went off and all returned to normal and i could continue playing.

Aha so you are on cable. There won't be a firewall in the modem then. Who is your ISP... (NTL or telewest for example)?

Telewest... I don't think the modem has a firewall built in either... Plus i'm still getting the kicks and connection problem error messages... Although there isn't actually a problem with my connection because all my other games play fine.

It could be a problem with the amount of traffic accessing the games server although I would imagine other people would have complained if that was the case.
