Resolved: Offline files group policy

Hi all, please tell me if i'm in the right spot for this post :mrgreen:
I configured a group policy for file redirection and it's working fine. But I'm trying to add the "enable offline files" from the
tools>folder options>offline files tab on client pcs (win xp pro) and it doesn't work ( it stays unchecked on client pcs).

Here's the settings in GP
Computer config> adm template> network> offline files:
Allow or disallow use of offline files feature: Enabled
All the rest is disabled
User Config> adm template> network> offline files:
Synchronize all offline files when logging on : disabled
Synchronize all offline files when logging off: Enabled
Synchronize all offline files before suspend: Enabled
Action on server disconnect: enabled, action: work offline.
Rest is disabled.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

profile problem

Hi, I have a domain server for a primary school set up with basic mandatary profiles with simple logins. When logging in as "lh" on some computers it creates a new profile on the computer everytime I login under that user. I have attached a screendump to show what I mean. Very odd, can anyone help with pointing out a possible reason for this?

cannot log because Domain not available

Hi Everybody

Till yesterday everything was working fine. Suddenly I get error message "system cannot log you now because domain is not available. I am using windows 2003 as a domain controller.

Please help ---

Trying to backup on an LTO2 drive

Dear all

I am trying to backup some files, actually everything, on an LTO2 tape drive on a Fujitsu server running Windows 2003 R2 OS . I am using NTBackup and the run command string of the scheduled job is the below:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup "@C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\full backup.bks" /n "FULL DATA BACKUP" /d "FULL DATA BACKUP" /v:no /r:no /rs:no /hc:on /m normal /j "full backup" /l:s /p "LTO Ultrium"

contents of the full backup.bks file :

C:\
D:\
SystemState

Now whenever the time comes to run the backup, nothing happens!! What might be wrong? it worked once or twice with the same job and tapes and now its not working anymore. The backup looks as if it is starting and then goes off immediately. It does this as well even if run manually...pls help

Server Crashed and I got a new one but...

Dell replaced my server (poweredge 840) with a poweredge T100 that I just received. I don't know anything about these things but I believe the one I got is inferior to the one I had. Can someone tell me if I got hosed?

Hi all

I'm trying to install windows server 2008 64 bit on either vmware workstation or virtual pc 2007. I have the 64 bit app for both and my system is an optiplex 960 with e8400 cpu, with the test and verifications I did, it's supposed have the intel virtualization tech...
I'm getting the status: 0xc000035a, I found on the web that it means that I cant use 64 bit os but I'm sure I can,...
Do I have to enable something in the app??

Pending: Missing Desktop icons and Taskbar - Win2k3

OS: Win2k3.

After running a registry cleaner(Advance System Care), I cannot see desktop icons and taskbar or explorer windows.

However, the data on this server is accessible via Remote Desktop and via network. All Remote Desktop sessions are also seeing a blank screen. Thru Task Manager we were able to run some tasks very tediously, though.

The explorer.exe was not running. Explorer.exe, switches off in a second, when started thru TM.

I ran SuperAntispyware and it cleaned up a number of Adware cookies - no spyware or trojans.

All help is appreciated.

i have a dos based accounting software installed in my windows 2003 server, the problem is that dos based accounting software runs very slowly when accessed by a win xp based system on our local area network

i am unable to sort the problem pls help.
