Usually for me,firefox is like that only.I forgot to mention about it.

The process which uses more memory in my pc is firefox.

If i open 3 websites,Firefox uses around 75,000 to 85,000 k as so far as i noticed.

Oneday i saw,it was using over 113,000 k as i remember.

I have totally 8 add ons...

Is it because of add ons ?

I use 1 add on from that 8 daily and there are 2 add ons which are not compatible with firefox 3.5.5, so those both add ons are like higlighted.I cant uninstall them as well.Remaining 5 add ons i use sometimes when they are needed.

Have firefox exceeded 100,000 k before ?

Hi, hoping someone out there can help me out!

For a couple of weeks now our broadband connection has been slow. We pay for 0.5Mb/s broadband and have generally received internet speeds around this mark. But recently download speeds have been around 50kb/s and youtube/iplayer etc have become unusable.

We have been in contact with our ISP and they have been helpful but cannot find any fault with our connection. Indeed, broadband speed tests show normal download speeds (which is not what we are experiencing). The ISP have temporarily upgraded our package to 4Mb to see if that makes any difference. The speed tests show fast internet speeds but still actual download speeds remain slow - 150kbps.

Antivirus/spyware all come back clean and Comodo firewall doesn't show anything to be hogging the bandwidth so I'm at a loss to explain this. The problem occurs both on my dad's PC and my Laptop independantly (both are wired connections through a router).

Speed Test Result (on current temporary 4MB connection) showing no problems:

Any help is greatly appreciated. Let me know if I need to provide any more information.

Thanks!

About a week ago a friend of mine was telling me of a problem she had off and on viewing peoples pages on myspace. When she would go to a person's page she would not see there page the way it should be but with sign up and log in on left hand side of page. She would get this with both firefox and IE. I just set up a computer for test purposes with xp home edition sp3. Running IE8 I also installed firefox on it to. When I went to view my myspace profile with firefox with out being logged in, I saw the same type of page my friend saw. But when I went to view my myspace profile page with IE with out being logged in it viewed normal. I have been trying to make sense of this with my friend but come up with no good explanation. The way the profile pages show up are the same for everyones profile page. With me it's only with firefox that this happens and only when I'm not logged in. With my friend it happed to her logged in or not and with both IE and Firefox. I'm including two screen shots of Toms page. One with firefox and one with IE. Hope someone has a good explanation for this... is it in myspace, firefox, firefox and IE...
I realize this post sound a little confusing... wasn't sure how to explain it.

This is NOT a test, it's just to see if I'm correct in the following:

You come home from work and your Internet "highspeed" is not working, either DSL or Cable. You know nothing was done to phark you up in your absense. I use the 15 minute drill...

Turn off all PCs, modems, routers, wait 15 minutes. Some have a switch on back, others one has to pull out the DC line.

1. Turn on modem, wait till it all boots up
2. Turn on router, wait till it lights up as it should
3. Turn on PC, then try to browse

Thanks and kindest regards, Ed

Hey everyone.

First off, the internet was working perfectly this morning, and now.....

A new problem has arose in the form of a mysterious internet anomaly. When I open my browser (I use firefox fyi) it will open my home page but nothing after that, and even that page is slow to load. No links will work, and if I try to put in another address then it may or may not go to it. I see the busy icon for the browser and see status text but thats it. Neither changes.

Now for some details..

*I use a NIC. (model is in my pc details)
*It has the same problem with IE
*The network connection window shows no problems with full connectivity
*I installed a new cpu today
*The current problem is not present when I use the mobo ethernet
*Absolutely nothing else is wrong post cpu install.

That's where I am :BangHead:

I never had a problem out of my NIC (if that is even the problem area)
