hello folks . . . . just upgraded to 3.01 today at work after an update reminder and all seems well . . . done the same at home and it all went pear shaped
got this message:
Sending of message failed.
An error occurred sending mail: Unable to authenticate to SMTP server smtp.ntlworld.com. The server does not support authentication (SMTP-AUTH) but you have chosen to use authentication. Untick 'Use name and password' for that server or contact your service provider.
now then . . . i'm pretty familiar with thunderbird and i know i didn't change any settings . . just a bog standard install, but, for the sake of looking i checked the outgoing server settings and . . . authentication wasn't enabled, meaning i wasn't wrong, so this has me even more baffled?
couldn't send amail out so i rolled it back to 2.04 or whatever i had before andit's absolutely fine in an instant? any ideas ????
thank you
dave
