Default Outlook depletes RAM

Outlook 2002 SP 3 depletes RAM when sending/receiving. Drains RAM to 0 and hangs computer, therefore doesn’t download my email. Sometimes computer will shut down and restart. Sometimes it just hangs forever and I finally have to hold in the power button to shut it down. It will do a check disk upon rebooting. Outlook will check itself also.

Compaq Presario , XP SP 2 or 3 Home Edition with Office Pro

80 GB HD (only about 3.5 GB free) , 1GB RAM Pentium 4 1.70 MGHZ

CA Security Suite, RegCure, CCleaner, MemoKit, IObit 360, Ashampoo
WinOptimizer, XoftSpySE, GhostSurf Platinum(expired), AdvancedSystemCare 3
Firefox 3.5, IE 7and a ton of other programs, which I need to remove.

I use Office Pro and need to keep it with Outlook and Excel.

Thanks in advance for any solution!

Hello Bob, Welcome to the forum

We have a great team here so I am sure we will be able to help you

First, if you are having hard drive space issues, I recommend you click the Ccleaner link in my signature - it is a great program for cleaning old rubbish stashed away on your system

Secondly I feel it may also be a good idea to click the prework link also in my signature - if you follow the instructions, and post back the requested logs we can have our security team assess them for you so we can be sure this problem is not malware related.

Looking forward to your reply,

Smokeycheech

PC Help Forum

Sorry to report back so late! I’ve got issues on 4 computers ( 2 need anti virus 60 day trial period activated or new antivirus / security replaced) and have been on the computers constantly this week!

I downloaded RootRepeal.rar, Win RAR, DDS & Security Check.

RootRepeal had a corrupted file and I had to uninstall and reinstall it. Didn’t see any “Report tab” at the bottom!
Computer finally “froze” and I had to cut the power after about and hour (about midnight) and rebooted this AM.
So far computer reboots and I’m able to use Firefox. I can get my email to a Live or Hotmail account.

I guess I’m ready to try to open RootRepeal again!

The Vista computer that I’ve been using to as “backup” to view and post no longer will run Internet Explorer since uninstalling security program and replacing it with another! Got a Rundll32error.That’s another post!

Will “try” to get back when I gather some “evidence”!!!

Thanks, Bob
