Question [Resolved] Windows mail and outlook express being weird

Hi,

I have got a laptop with xp and outlook express. Email works fine 100% (pop)

I have got a desktop that was fine until a week ago using the exact same email account, I imported it from the laptop.

Now it gives me error messages and wont retrive email yet its cool for sending it.

The laptop with eaxcly the same account is fine and download email ok. I re-imported the file of the account to laptop at it keeps giving me this message:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'catherine', Server: 'customermail2.easily.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

yet its fine on the other machine!!!???
I am scratching my head...
thoughts...?

Hi, do you use Norton to scan incoming emails on that PC?
Also, do you use ZoneAlarm?

Can you (temporarily) turn off AVG for me please and then test again.

Ok, can you work thru the suggested fixes here and let me know if anything worked.

How to troubleshoot error messages that you receive when try to send and receive e-mail in Outlook and in Outlook Express

Your error is in there: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes of this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account. account name, Server: 'server name', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800ccc0f
