Is your Windows firewall on? If it is, try disabling it....or any firewall you are using on that PC.

just saw this on my providers support page. perhaps it it something to do with them:

System Status

30th October 2007: We are aware of issues with IMAP connections for those customers who are on customermail2.easily.co.uk. Our technicians are working to resolve this issue.

All other services are fully operational.

Just found the answer. My ISP email people changed the SMTP settings and did not tell me. They take about 1 week to answer emails. They game me the SMTP settings and it worked first time!!!
thanks...its one to remeber for the future.
