Email & Spam Issues - Viewing .txt messages...???? posted in the Web & Networking forums; Hello Groupies: I often receive email messages containing attachments with .txt messages. (XP with O/E)
However, when I open them, all I see is a bunch of "spaghetti."
What must ...
the .txt file extention is for notpad, try right click on the file then choose the "open with" option, choose the notepad and that should open the mail in notepad letting you read it.

A right-click on the file while in O/E produces only "open." "Open with" becomes an option only if I drag the .txt file to the desktop.
However, it is still scrambled, using either Notepad or Wordpad.

Which version of outlook are you using? It seems to be a problem with outlook setting the encoding for the message, the 'spagheti' you pasted is base64 encoded text.
