i doubt this is in the correct section... but anyways.. it seems that a very old hotmail account that i no longer access has been hacked into... and a msg has been sent with a link... saying "look at my new pics" ... what measures can be taken to prevent this occurance.. and to what lengths must i go at to protect myself in future ? i have no idea who this person is or how they got my details.. :|

Any assistance would be useful!

Use a strong password with letters and numbers, symbols, upper and lower case letters. Change it often.
Never give it to any one or give clues.
Contact Hotmail if you believe it wasnt an issue with the password.

Also i do believe with hotmail free accounts if you dont sign in within 90 days then your account will be deleted.
