Default Need help repairing email link!

After doing too much registry cleaning, I now have a problem with my email client.
I use Yahoo Mail.
When I am on a web site and try to click on an email link so as to send an email, the [attached] "warning" window pops up! Does anyone know if this can be repaired?
trying to get help from Yahoo Support is a waste of time because you can never talk to a person.
Any advice would be appreciated but please, if explaining what I should do and how to do it, please explain in "layman's" terms.
Thank you.

Hey Dr. G,

Is the file too large to upload? If so, could you please post back with the error message?

Looking forward to your reply,

Hello LGW,

I will try to attach file again, but just in case, it says: RUNDLL, Error loading C:\windows\downlo~1\ymmapi.dll

Nope, I just tried but it said upload of file failed. It is only 32kb, [JPG]I don't understand why it won't upload.
But that's the way things are going for me right now! LOL!

Thank you my friend,

Doctor G

Let's see if we can't turn that around for you Doc.

Have you tried reinstalling the Yahoo mail program? It may take your uninstalling and reinstallling, but it sounds as if the .dll file is damaged.

Looking forward to your reply,

Hi again LGW,
I tried the uninstall/reinstall but got the same results.
How would I replace a damaged .dll ? I'm not the sharpest "tack" in the box you know! LOL!
Anyway, I was hoping to learn something by fixing this problem but it's becoming a headache.

In the future, whenever I want to click on that dead email link, I'll just copy and paste the address instead.
Thank you so very much for your attempt at helping this computer "illiterate" guy. LOL!

Doctor Gallop --- Hey, that Doctor G you called me sounds better!

Have a great day LGW. This is a great web site and I will be telling everyone about it.

Hey Dr. G,

And all because I'm too lazy to type the whole thing,. LOL.

Here is a place that claims to have a free download of the ymmapi.dll. I have not personally used this site before, but if you are able to download and unzip the file, you have a good chance of repairing the install.

It may be a good idea to clean your temp files, and registry before attempting to repair it. And, it's just a good idea in general. Couldn't hurt. lol.

Can you please download CCleaner and RegSupremePro from my signature. Update CCleaner, then boot into Safe Mode. Once there, run CCleaner, making sure that all options are selected, including Advanced. Answer OK or Yes to all warnings. Click on Analyze, then Run Cleaner. Repeat this until either no files appear or the same files appear and cannot be cleaned.

Next click on Issues, make sure all options are selected. Click on Find Issues, then Fix Selected Issues. Name the backup todays date. Let it fix everything that it finds. Again repeat until no issues are found.

Next run RegSupremePro. It will want to make a backup of your cache, let it. Click on the Registry Cleaner tab, choose Aggressive. Once it has finished, click on Select, and choose All. Click on Fix, and let it fix everything that it finds, you can name this backup today's date as well. Reboot, then install your .dll file.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN
