Hi Scouse...

if it helps this is the message that comes up when i take the window off which asks for the username and password.

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk', Server: 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Invalid login/password pair', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

it's driving me nuts!

Hey Les.

Don't get stressed - that's my job!

Ok, i'll suggest making a new Outlook account, and try accessing it that way. If you follow the directions in the link to set it up. When you've done this (making sure you've selected the "use existing Email address" button), you will be able to remove the old account.

Hope this helps! Stay calm!

Oooh thats such a good link! it's sooooo nice to see info on technical problems that even a pc beginner can understand.

I think my parents think i know what i'm doing all the time with pcs cos i'm 24, but half the time when i've fixed it before i don't even know what i've done to make it work!

Have to say I'm looking forward to the course i'll be doing this Autumn.

Will give that a try tomorrow and report back to you tomorrow afternoon.

Many thanks hunni.

Les x

Nah, it won't mess the account up as you're doing it on your dads account. As for the link, there are so many good tutorials - well worth taking time to find them rather than jumping on the first you find. And I figured the 24 part out by your name You're ONE DAY younger than me!

Let me know how it goes.

Ok, I've done everything that the tutorial advised me to do. changed the necessaries in internet account via tools options etc...

all looked ok.

then when i re-opened outlook and clicked send/receive it still keeps coming up with enter username and password.

if it helps my parents are running wanadoo broadband via speedtouch connection.

I'm almost at the point of giving up I have to say cos now my brain has turned in to beef stew and after following all the advice i still can't get the damn thing to work.

Any suggestions scouse?

Oh yeah, and my username isn't very imaginative is it! lol, but it's easy to remember!
