Default O/E 6 Delete-messages button inactive!

Hi: Win 98; I/E 6; Outlook Express 6:
At first-opening, O/E inbox "delete" button works fine. After other computer activity, O/E delete button becomes inactive. "Hourglass" no longer appears next to cursor upon clicking the button, and selected message doesn't delete. Right-click delete isn't operational either.
Also, "Deleted messages" folder won't open whenever delete button is inactive.
Any ideas? Thanks, Bill in Tacoma.

Hi Bill!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!
Sorry for the delay in reply.

Have you got any idea about how this started to happen?

Blue

No ideal what might have triggered this.....I should also clarify that "inactive" doesn't mean grayed-out; rather it just doesn't do anything. Bill.

Perhaps this is Malware related.
Could you follow the instructions from the Prework in my signature, and post back the logs as attachements here please.

Hi Billintacoma!

There's a link to 'Prework' in my signature, that's the text that shows up under every post of mine.
You can click on it, it's right to the text 'What's inside my PC?'.
Follow on the instructions there, and you'll get logs out of the programs you use.
Can you post those logs back please.
If you need any help, post back

Blue
