I have had a hotmail acct for years but lately whenever I try to sign-in quite often it says my pw or un is wrong and asks me to sign-in again. When I do sometimes it lets me in and other times it says my acct in not available. Once in awhile it will let me sign-in without any trouble but not often. I do not see a pattern. I even reset my pw but to no avail. The problem seemed to start when I installed McAfee security suite. Is there a tiein with that or is it something else? Thanks

Yes but I have not tried to enter my acct from any other pc since the problem started.

Well you could try to temporarily disable the McAfee Security center for a start?

I should have mentioned that when my wife accesses her hotmail account on the same computer she never has a problem getting in.

It might be a problem with a cookie or some cached file or something. Can you download and Ccleaner? (see link below) Then all temp files will be cleaned.
