Hey Tux,

I tried using .txt files or .doc files and I didn't get anything... However, what did seem to work is typing nothing into the boxes, that's correct, leaving the boxes completely empty and clicking start... Just by chance I did this out of frustration... This brought up everything or so it seems because at last count over 300,000 files were there to be looked into... However, this exhausting count can be shortened by two/thirds, as I have three different names which use their own e-mails...

Looking into 100,000 files is not easy either because you have to click open anything that you think is a possibility and you really don't know what you're opening... Also, almost all of the time when you're into it, the file freezes and you have to wait a few seconds to a minute before it clears up and this is where it becomes frustrating... Sometimes, the file doesn't clear up and you have to start all over again with a completely new search... Argh!

Any new ideas?

I truly appreciate your sticking with me on this as long as you have... It seems though and as frustrating as it is, I'll have to accept the loss of these draft files/folder... I know they're in there, somewhere and I'll keep on looking and keep on posting to let you know what gives...

Regards,
nicholas

Hey Zimbo,

I'm pleased that you've come aboard again to help, somehow I knew you were keeping track of this problem of mine... Both you and Tux are becoming my best buds, so to speak...

I've tried it this way too, .txt, .doc, *.txt, *.doc and pulled up a lot of stuff, except...

Anyway guys, what I've noticed in these last few searches is that I'm picking up everything except e-mail... I'm getting some, however, It's not current e-mail that's in folders in my mail account, it's e-mail which I put in folders and transferred to my documents files myself... I'm pulling everything except the lost 20 e-mails and anything that's currently in my e-mail inbox, etc. It seems that this method/tool can only pull-up stuff other than what's in an e-mail account or anything that was in an e-mail account... Perhaps it's a security check?

Could this info help?

nicholas

Hey Guys,

@Nicholas, a very warm welcome from me, we love having new members with senses of humor.

In regard to your missing email problems, no offense to you dear Tux, but those files will not be stored as either .txt or .doc files. email is stored in a format which is not accessible through regular programs, you have to open it from an email editor.

In Outlook for example, all of your files would be stored in a .pst file, not as individual files in a folder, but rather encrypted into the .pst or Personal Folder File.

I am not sure what format MSN mail stores your files in on your computer. As it is also a Microsoft product, try looking for these file extensions. .pst, .msnpst, .ost see what comes up.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW

Yup ladygreenwitch is correct, those files won't relate to the emails.

Hmm this is turning into quite a tricky problem.

Did you ever manage to email MSN Premium or visit the support site - http://support.msn.com/contactus.aspx

If so did you get any feedback from them?

Would you be able to login to your MSN Premium email and take a screenshot for us, basically I want to see what options you have on the screen. We might be able to find out from the program itself where is normally saves emails.(if it does)

Also add .dbx extensions to the list.
