Default [Fixed] Express sending difficulties

Hey,

I've set up outlook express and I'm having trouble sending (error code 0x800CCC0E: Failed to connect).? I've been through all the web sites I can find on the topic and nothing helps. All my settings are just the way they should be... Why can I access in coming but I cant send.

Any help would be great.

Sounds like it might be a POP3/SMTP setting problem.

Which provider are you using to connect and download emails?

ok, here things get a bit confusing, maybe. This PC is connected to a router in a home network, connected to a COX cable modem and service. And I'm trying to connect to a private email server at my work. I'm pretty positive on the server names.

Another thing to consider, it may be a corrupt installation of Outlook Express - save all your mail and addresses etc then:

Go to Control Panel > add/remove programs > Windows Components > un-tick "Outlook Express" > ok and then go back in and re-tick the same box > ok and exit. This will un-install and then re-install Outlook Express, hopefully correcting the corrupt version (if it is that).

Not really, it can be smtp.blah.com or mail.blah.com - try both
